Sunday night as I was flipping through channels, I happened across a miniseries on AMC called "The Prisoner". The original show was a TV series in the '60's and had some strange twists and turns. This recreation of that show focuses on a village where inhabitants all live in a Utopia like environment and the main characters are known by numbers, not names. The Tel Aviv-based scientists were able to replicate blood and saliva samples containing DNA without using actual tissue or blood from the subject. They could construct a sample of DNA using a DNA profile in a database or by taking a sample from a source like hair or a cigarette butt.
