I was so excited when I saw one of my favorite country singers, Taylor Swift was going to be hosting one of my all time shows, Saturday Night Live. I couldn't wait to tune in, and it was funny! SNL has such a way of poking fun at hot topics, and getting a reaction out of most people. Even if the reaction is an ooh, or an argh, they still manage to make you laugh.SNL first debut live in NYC in October 1975, with their familiar tag line of "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night", and has been a hit ever since. From that show sprung a lot of great comedic talent, like Chevy Chase, Dana Carvey, Will Farrell, Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, Gilda Radnor, Jane Curtin, Tina Fay and many more. Even the musical talent on the show manage to impart something unique when they perform, as well as become part of the cast for that segment. Taylor debuted a new song, and had great fun with skits spoofing 'Twilight' and 'The View'.
As SNL gets older, they seem to still have the ability to bring in fresh new talent with great ideas to make the show even more popular. They always pull in relevant, current, and timely events for their skits.
