Phineas Taylor Barnum's ability to inspire the imagination of others earned him the title of 'master showman.' He traveled the world boggling the minds of commoners and royalty alike with incredible attractions, like mermaids and elephants.
Today, Barnum's original vision has transformed to become one of the most popular tent and stage shows in the world. Though his circus (number 6 on our list) is still on tour, new shows have captured his spirit for amazement and interpreted it in a way all their own.
Shows like Cirque du Soleil take Barnum's knack for showmanship and combine it with elaborate production skills, such as pyrotechnics, music and lighting. Cirque du Soleil, the top searched circus, scours the globe looking for the most talented dancers, singers, acrobats, artists and stuntmen for their many themed shows. Check out one of these shows for a mind-blowing performance that will tickle your senses. If a tour isn't coming near you, visit Las Vegas or Disney for one of their resident shows.

BOYCOTT ALL CIRCUSES THAT USE LIVE ANIMALS!!
It is a cruel, hard life for an animal that has to "perform".

I think that the circus should ban clowns - but then You guys would be out of a job.

I agree that all animals that work are abused. The worst are the dogs and horses at all race tracks, but noone will do anything to help them(too much money involved).

The old side shows were a good source of income for those people that could not get work to support their families. Then someone decided that it was taking advantage of deformed etc.people so they stopped doing the side shows, now they can't make a good living anymore. If they wanted to do it,that was their business!!!!

Jan Laghi should use spell check and learn her facts before spewing off about the President. There are a lot of facts that she is missing and should stick to whatever she knows, whatever that is... There are a lot more people that believe in the system than not, and some should become more educated before they Blog

I pray for President Obama's conversion from a man who says he respects every human being but promotes by his actions the killing of babies in a woman's womb to a man who respectc all living beings including animals.
