Dieting is hard! Quick diets don't help you lose weight long term and exercise regimens are hard to stick to. Maybe diet pills really are the best way how to lose weight effectively. Check out our list of the top searched diet pills on AOL Search.Top Searched Diet Pills on AOL Search:
1. Hydroxycut
2. Alli
3. Phentermine
4. Hoodia
5. Slimquick
6. Meridia
7. Xenical
8. Relacore
9. Lipovox
10. Metabolife
Hydroxycut made it to the top of our most searched list, but I wouldn't recommend taking it. The FDA issued a recall due to the pills links to liver damage and one death. Following the FDA warning, it spiked on our list!
I can see why Alli made it towards the top of the list. According to their customer testimonials, this pill, along with diet and exercise, can increase weight loss up to 50 percent. However, Alli is known to have some nasty side effects as well. According to their website, you will pass something "that looks like the oil on top of a pizza" out your body. Are the benefits worth the costs?
Did you know phentermine received FDA approval back in 1959? It's still a top searched diet pill today. It's strange to think people have been using phentermine for so long.
I have to say, I'm a little skeptical of all these miracle pills and I wonder if they really lead to healthy weight loss. There are so many diet pills that out there that I question how safe they really are. Some of these diet pills I have actually heard of like Hoodia and Hydroxycut. But what exactly are Meridia and Lipovox? Lipovox, number 9, is made of extracts from superfoods like flaxseed, barley, green tea, acai and more. The antioxidants from these superfoods are great for your body.
Yes, popping a diet pill does sound much easier than counting your calories or exercising, but do they really work? Have you tried any of these diet pills? And if so, what worked for you?

As I've gained and lost the same 25 pounds a gazillion times, I am a skeptic too of short term fixes and pills. My friends call me the calorie contessa (amongst other names!) as I know the calorie count of everything and have been on every diet. Boy did I hate the cabbage soup one!
I write a blog and share recipes and tips on weight loss at http://www.caloriecontessa.com
I have kept most of my weight off the last few years as I have made lifestyle changes and eat far less processed foods and red meat and am a big fan of adding fiber to your diet. Two current faves are splenda with fiber packets and fitflax( golden roasted nutty flaxseeds).
I don't rigidly count calories, but am aware of what I am putting in my mouth and I want to make my calories count. I think it matters also what kind of calories. You can eat 15 100 calorie packs of oreo bits or you can eat chicken, salad, whole wheat bread and delicious fresh fruit and you will look far better and feel far better eating a more balanced program.

I will be trying Myalli because first of all it isn't a true diet pill. No caffeine. It is FDA Approved. And as it goes through your body, it literally causes the fat cells to attache themselves to 'it' and they are not digested at all. That is why there is an oily stool.
You MUST keep your fat % down. It tells you to how much on their website. But, it does require a very low fat diet. For good reason. so you do not have an oily substance eliminating from your body. The pill you take only causes the fat to elminate. Just think if it didn't remove itself from your body, than that 'fat' you see on your stool, would still be IN your body.
Ever see bacon grease? heat it up it is liquid, let it cool it is a fatty solid.. that is what we put in our bods (aka veins... arteries) ... just think ... yuk. that is IN my body when I eat bacon? (I LOVE bacon..) i RARELY use it any more. once or twice a year ... sometimes in potato salad.
Hope my little testimonial helps!!! Have a GREAT year and I will save this posting to update how I am doing on the myalli diet.
(I too hate that cabbage soup thing... i made it without... finally added a bunch of other herbs and spices instead)

I've always been the pretty friend with a little extra. Friends have tried to fix me up with guys and since I'm not a toothpick I've heard the oh I thought she'd be thinner or the famous you're the biggest girl I've ever dated. Although I've never had a disorder like bolemia, I did get to the point in college that I just stopped eating because I was sick of people looking at me like just one of the guys. It was then that people started noticing me and later on I realized that this was just shallowness. As shallow as it is, now I'm so obsessed with being thin, that I've tried everything! About 6 months ago I weighed 197 and I'm 5'7 and a half. I have broad shoulders, but don't look like a football player, but my chest is so large that I can't shop in a normal store, but can wear a size 11 in juniors. I went to the doctor and they considered me obese and according to websites like webmd that don't take into consideration your build, I'm supposed to be between 135 and 145. When I was at the best shape (at least I thought) in my life, I was 145 and people (including my grandmother that was a nurse)were watching me to make sure I was eating because my collar bone was sticking out and my ribs were very visible. Now that I look back it was gross, but websites like webmd are horrible for this situation or any medical problem I've had. I took ephedra diet pills in college and passed out standing up once and luckily was just allowed to sit down and not have to go to the hospital. I have tried hydroxycut and it didn't do anything. I tried Alli when it first came out and ended up having to throw out my underwear a few times...at work. Very embarassing when you have to hobble to the bathroom because something just slipped out. Anything that you eat with oil just causes discharge and it did nothing but give me gas. Most recently the doctor prescribed me Meridia, but when I got to the pharmacy, I found out it was going to cost me $150 for a month supply, so he called my doctor and she gave me phentermine that cost a mere $50 (that's sarcasm). Again this did not suppress my appetite, did not make me lose any weight, but it did give me more energy. I work out 5+ days a week and eat right, but because I've used so many of these pills my metabolism is screwed up. I'm now going to a nutritionist and the doctor has diagnosed me with IBS. So not only do I have to eat Activia every day, but I have to journal everything that I eat. So, in the past 3.5 months I have finally lost 25 pounds and everyone is noticing. This is without all the pills, but with the diet that fits my body. I have also tried plans. I did Jenny Craig and gained 10 lbs because of all the sodium, Nutrasystem tastes horrible, and weight watchers wasn't good for me because I was already eating correct for a healthy person, but not the right foods for me. The best thing I believe anyone can do is one thing that I learned in Weight Watchers and I'm also doing now with the nutritionist. Journal what you're eating to figure out what is best for your body. Ridiculously high fiber is great for me, but may make someone else just very gassy. Don't listen to what everyone else is doing. Figure out what's best for your own body without pills because you'll end up like me. I'm only 28 and my body has the metabolism of a 500 pound person that doesn't move off the couch. I now have to retrain my body to work.

If the FDA pulled Hydroxycut for 1 death, then Viagra should be pulled first as there have been multiple deaths from Viagra.

I too have been the up and down dieter. I lost 70 pounds 10 years ago with a diet supplement system not on this list. But I Believe to be safe and certainly effective. It has been reformulated to have a fat burner and I have now lost 16 pounds. Of course, I am trying to eat better and exercise. It just gives me that extra push to start.

Phentermine is awsome. I love it. It helped me get on track and eat to live not live to eat. If you can get Dr. to prescribe it will do the trick.
By Hazel Smith on Jul 5th 2009 at 8:41PM

THE ONLY ACAI THAT IS WORTH USING TO "AID" IN WEIGHT LOSS WOULD BE MONAVIE. YOU WOULD HAVE TO TAKE LOTS OF THE PILL FORM TO EVEN EQUAL THE TWO SHOTS YOU TAKE OF MONAVIE PER DAY. I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT, DO THE RESEARCH ON IT, LISTEN TO THOSE WHO USE IT. ONE OF THE VERY FEW PRODUCTS I STAND BY FAITHFULLY
