Diet is a four letter word...literally! Even though nobody likes to diet, many of us find ourselves counting calories every now and again, especially during summer. For all my fellow dieters, I decided to see what diets were most popular among AOL Search users. Top Searched Diets on AOL Search:
1.Weight Watchers
2. Jenny Craig
3. HCG Diet
4. Gluten Free Diet
5. NutriSystem
6. South Beach Diet
7. Mediterranean Diet
8. Atkins Diet
9. Flat Belly Diet
10. Cabbage Soup Diet
All diets offer different ways of approaching the same goal: losing weight. Before you plunge in to a diet plan, it is important to shop around a bit for a diet program that will work best for you. Are you looking to lose weight quickly? An extreme diet like number 10, the Cabbage Soup Diet, will help you shed pounds fast. If you are looking for more long-term weight loss, try a weight loss program, like Jenny Craig (no. 2).
Number one on the list has been around since the 1960s. Weight Watchers allows you to keep eating the foods you like by monitoring them with a points system. Their famous meetings bring fellow dieters together in a support setting. If that isn't your cup of tea, you can also track your diet online.
The Gluten Free Diet, number 4, is much more than a diet; it is a lifestyle. Celebs like Jenny McCarthy and Elisabeth Hasselbeck swear by it. Both stars released books about the diet. McCarthy said eliminating gluten from her sons diet helped him recover from autism and Hasselbeck depends on the diet to control her celiac disease.
A recent study shows that following the Mediterranean Diet (no. 7) can help you live a longer life. The basic tenements of the diet promote moderate alcohol consumption, little meat and lots of vegetables. These tactics have been strongly linked to longevity. So tonight at dinner, pour yourself a glass of wine and dig in to some healthy vegetables and beans.

After being overweight for most of my life I learned about a combination of supplements that has brought me to the point where I look like everyone else. I'm not the fat girl any more. My kids don't have to put up with their friends making fun of me. And best of all, I'm much healthier and full of energy.First I take an incredible fat burning/detox/cleanse http://healthydietcleanse.info and along with that an amazing supplement that really suppresses my appetite http://theworldsgreatestsupplement.com/ The result has been my dramatic weight loss.

I had been overweight for the past five years. I had tried almost everything in the market, right from taking diet pills to enrolling in a gym but nothing really worked. Yes I did lose a few pounds but nothing substantial. It was then that a friend recommended Acai Nutraburst to me. I have been using the product for about a month now and have slimmed down considerably. I have actually started to wear all those dresses that I had put off for so long. The product is definitely one of the best weight loss products in the market today. I have already finished two bottles of Acai Nutraburst and am on my third bottle now. It totally changed my life! Not only did I lose a lot of weight quickly, I have also never felt more energetic and so full of life!

I was lucky enough to never have been overweight in my life. That all ended after the birth of my second child. I got down to 20 pounds over my normal weight but no matter what I did I couldn't lose the rest. I didn't know if was age catching up with me or if somehow my metabolism changed. Whatever the reason, nothing was working. I tried all the bogus "diet" pills that we see all over the internet, but are just scams. All I ever lost with that stuff was money. One of my friends, knowing what I was going through, told me that she had been losing weight using a special plan http://bit.ly/FatLoss4You. It laid out the facts in a way I never saw before and had easy to follow meal plans and diets. Not only have I lost the weight and kept it off but I'm leading a healthier lifestyle, mostly from the knowledge I gained from this amazing program.

I first was truly skeptical.. I have done everything from pills to those lil electrode massages. Working out all of it.. I knew my problem was my metabolism I JUST DID NOT know what to do to correct it.. I have currently been on RedHotXP for nearly a month and I have lost over 26 pounds. I am ecstatic. I do not know what I would do without RedHotXP. I can assure you I WILL be reordering until my weight goal is met and then even after to maintain a higher metabolism to keep myself healthy and lean.. I am a small built woman and ANY weight I gain is noticeable beyond measure. I have never been utterly thin but I was never as much over weight as I was when I began

When i first heard about using the Maqui berry, I heard a heck of a lot of good things about it. It immediately gained my attention and I wanted to know more about it. So i did my research and continued to like what I was hearing. So then I decided to order some Maqui for myself and I am very glad that i did just that. Why? Because within just 2 days, I had much more energy and within 3 weeks I lost 14 pounds. It was incredible to me that I could use something so natural and so small, and lose THAT much weight. I%u2019ve got to admit that I was hesitant about using it at first but i%u2019m glad i tried it. From what I read about this amazing product I found out that it has 60% more antioxidants than the acai berries and 400% more than the blueberries or grapes. This is very important to reduce the impact of harmful free radicals. The anti oxidants are helpful in cleaning the body and thereby helping you to stay healthy and young. I got a big boost in my energy levels ever since I have started taking Maqui Berry I feel much more energy in going about my daily routine. My stamina has also doubled. It is amazing that a product could pack in so many benefits!

If you're lucky you don't know what it's like to be the "fat friend", well that was me, and it isn't fun. I tried everything you ever heard of in an attempt to lose weight. I went through those scam acai berry "diet" pills and lost nothing but money. Finally I was told about a combination of 2 diet products. One is Wu-Yi, a fat burning/energy/weight loss tea http://cli.gs/WuYiWeightLossSystem. The other is an amazing weight loss/detox/cleanse http://healthydietcleanse.info. Between those two and some moderate exercise I started losing weight rapidly and after 7 months I'm now the one getting the compliments when we all go out. What a life changer that has been.

FAD DIETS?? I just believe that either exercising more or reducing your calories to create a caloric deficit will help you to lose weight. Adopting a new attitude about food is more important than trying to stick to some strict plan. Educate yourself on the basics of nutrition and fitness and you'll lose weight and get in shape and remain this way for life. MSN has some really good information - http://www.msn.comFatblastzone.com - http://fatblastzone.com. There are how-to guides that you can download.

Iam not a fan of dieting as much as changing habits. I used to
always go on and off diets and gain and lose 20-30 pounds at a time.
After going to Weight Watchers and just getting tired of having fat
jeans, thin jeans and a varying wardrobe, I finally clicked on what
worked for me.
I am always aware of what I eat. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy
pizza and cheesecake sometimes. Just not all the time and not in
gigantic pigout portions. I go to weight watchers for group support.
I have given up with trying to be "perfect" I am not thin, but I am
healthy, curvy and normal
and am happy with how much I get to eat to maintain my size.
I stopped eating lots of processed foods and discovered the huge
advantage of adding fiber to your diet. You feel fuller and more
satisfied longer. I used to start my day with a muffin and a diet
pepsi. All empty calories and loaded with fat. I now have a thick
greek yogurt with 2 tablespoons of fitflax http://www.fitflax.com and
some berries and a cup of green tea. I have it on a nice plate,
treat myself like a lady and I feel fabulous. Fitflax is a golden
roasted flax and chia blend that is nutty, delicious and low carb and
low cal. Since it is roasted it does not have to be ground and it
loaded with Omega 3's, Omega 6's and antioxidants. So not only did I
lose
weight, but my skin is fabulous now too.
I also make the time to at least get in a brisk 20 minute walk every
day. Oprah listed the code fit10 on her site to get 10% off on this
product.

I follow the Flat Belly diet and am also a fan of fitflax, whole grains and making sure I eat every 4 hours so I don't feel deprived. I am also crazy about avocados! I have 1/2 of one every day. I had never eaten them as a kid and know I can't get enough. Such a healthy good fat.

I have found that the most successful weight loss plan for me is weight watchers, I have been on it for 8 weeks and I have lost 17.6 lbs. You can eat what you want as long as it you count your points. I have found myself satisfied and full. I thought counting points would be a pain, always thinking about food but if you follow the plan and eat the filling foods you are satisfied.

I've used nutraceutical strips for the past month combined with healthy eating and "lite" exercising every other day. I have lost 10 pounds easily. I use enlyten strips (www.enlyten.com/biowell) every day. The energy and electrolyte strips are used during workouts thus eliminating the sloshing of excess liquids in my stomach (they have zero calories/zero carbs/zero sugar, unlike the sports drinks that can have up to 32.5 gms of sugar per bottle). During the day, I use the calorie burner and appetite suppressant strips to stave off hunger and I eliminate impulsive eating that satisfies that hunger. Works for me.

I have been on every one of the commercial diets in the course of my life. On many, I lost as much as 100 lbs. But much to my dismay, the weight always came back and increased each time. I finally had the gastric stapling, which didn't work long term and had to be replaced with the gastric by-pass. I lost over 340 lbs. Yes, you read that right, a set of triplets. However, I recently quit smoking and have gained 40 lbs back. I also changed my living enviroment, I moved in with my boyfriend and he loves pasta, and he tries to avoid veggies as much as possible. I am a little discouraged but, I feel soon there will be someone out there who will discover the real secret to weight management, hormones, heredity and the natural aging process. If I am lucky enough to see this, I will be the first one on the trial list.

Okay, this one isn't a commmercial trying to sell you something...don't ask me where I read this because I don't remember but there have been studies showing that less food intake leads to a longer life, something having to do w/all the work involved in processing food, digestion, whatever you want to call it. What I discovered is if I take 3 or 4 days a week and make an effort to drink shakes, could be ensure, slimfast, whatever, and take those days and go meatless, lots of veggies, my weight stays down and is much easier to control. Thought I'd go vegan but that didn't happen so I compromise, only red meat when I go out, white at home, and 3-4 times a week I don't eat meat at all. Took awhile but really got into some great recipes including lots of legumes. Definately works for me and hope it works for you!

I was expecting comments from "real" people,, what I got on here was commercials from products,, what a dissappointment.
By Juderee on Jun 25th 2009 at 8:36AM
It is all about portion control, regular exercise, and strength training. If you combine these three things you will maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. If you deny yourself foods that you love, you will crave them and over-indulge. Use some control and eat smaller portions. If you don't exercise and work your muscles, your body won't burn fat and calories effectively. It's all about balance, some hard work, and control!!!!!!!! No fancy diet needed!!!
