Nike was one of the first shoe makers to revolutionize the running sneaker market. Two of Nike's competitors, Adidas (No. 1) and Puma (No.10) were founded by sport-obsessed rival brothers. I love my Nikes and my smartsole exercise insoles. SmartSoles are insoles that have a negative heel and positive arch so they cause you to burn more calories with every step. They are super comfortable, offer a lot of arch support and tone muscles. They also help your sneakers to last longer! You simply replace the insole in your sneaker with the sturdy smartsole.
I had heard about these insoles (they are similiar to MBT sneakers) on Oprah and found a coupon on her site for 10% off. The code is fit10 and is good till the end of this month.
I also wear them in my boots. They can not be worn in pumps or flip flops.

Thanks for the smartsole promo code. I have a pair and love them. I don't run, but wear them in my sneakers just while doing errands. I love burning more calories and my legs do feel more toned. When the weather gets nicer, I go for long walks, I would love to start running.

I have run close to 25,000 miles and swear by Asics. I swear at Nike because each of three or four pairs I had gave me heel blisters during break in and the heal fabric and cushion wore away leaving hard plastic.

I made the mistake of using Smartsoles and I got planta fasciitis from them. I am in constant pain when I walk. I can't even think about running anymore.

Wow... I would never run barefoot. I don't even like walking barefoot as the bottom of my feet are so sensitive.
I had plantar fasciitis (basically a fancy name for heel spurs)and my podiatrist recommended smartsoles as there is a soft gel insert...they were wonderful. recently started running and am very slow, but would love to do a 5k.

My husband and I are both active runners and will only wear New Balance. We tried Asics and Nike but came right back to Nike. New Balance - the shoe for the real runner!

My sister is a nurse and has worn shoes called Genuine Grip but also a new sock that adds oxygen to the skin. I have tried the socks and as a former college football player, these are a must have
Nike and New Balance are both great products.

Gordon,
I logged 20,120 miles between the ages of 14 and 30, then hung up the shoes. 90 percent of those miles were on New Balance shoes which were almost unheard of at that time I started and became popular during the 16 year period. I used 28 pairs of shoes or a little more than 700 miles per pair. I cannot imagine 25,000 but we have folks around here that have done that. Good for you!

Avid runner, I have 2 or 3 shoes I run in at all times. Best shoe makers, easily, in my opinion are Mizuno and Saucony. Mizuno's Elixir 4 and Saucony's Grid Sinister are fantastic shoes.
