Summer hasn't even started yet and I already got my first sunburn. The funny thing was, I wasn't even out in the sun that long! It just goes to show how important it is to keep your skin protected. The sun's rays are so strong that you can even get a sunburn on a cloudy day. Be on the safe side and slather on some sunblock to keep your skin protected.
Sunblock products are important to skin health because they absorb ultraviolet radiation, a known carcinogen, from the sun. Therefore, along with sunblock clothing and other sun safety strategies, sunblocks are one of the most important parts of protecting your skin. In celebration of National Sun Safety Week, check out our list of the top searched sunscreens!
When choosing a sunscreen, one of the most important things to consider is the Sun Protection Factor, or SPF. Any sunblock above SPF 15 usually provides sufficient protection. If you do want to bronze your skin, some suntan lotions, like Australian gold, have a lower SPF that allows you to tan while still blocking some UV rays.
Consider how much sun protection you need by looking at your day-to-day life. If you are on the go a lot, try adding SPF protection to your skin care regime. Many skin care products, such as face and body lotion, include SPF protection. If you are at the beach or playing sports, look for a waterproof sunscreen that won't melt off when you sweat or wash off in the water. Number 2 on our list, Blue Lizard, claims that it will stay on for for 240 minutes in whirlpool water.

I am a kayak fisherman living in central Florida. When I fish from my kayak, I am out in direct sun light for 4 - 6 hours at a time. There is only sunscreen for me, DriGrip. I never get burned. You can order DriGrip at www.drigrip.com. DriGrip is the only truly dry sunscreen. When you apply DriGrip it completely disappears and leaves zero residue on your skin. This broad spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen will not burn your eyes. This sunscreen is great for any one who plays outdoor sports as sand and dirt will not stick to your skin after you apply DriGrip. This sunscreen can be applied under makeup. This sun screen is great for anglers. DriGrip does not kill your live bait or repel fish. DriGrip is the only sunscreen I will use. If you happen to own a pool, DriGrip will not leave an oily scum ring around your tile edge.
