I am very loyal to my favorite cosmetics brands. But when it comes to mascara, I like to play the field. New mascaras hit the shelves monthly and claim to be the best lengthening, curling, thickening and waterproof mascaras on the block. I can't resist but trying out a new tube. My mascara is running on empty right now, so I decided to see what mascaras are popular among AOL Search users. To see which one reigned supreme, check out the top searched list.
The top searched mascara on our list, from Lancome cosmetics, is a definite splurge, but worth it. Lancome is known for runway quality make up with a high-fashion price. Their best selling mascara, Definicils, has been the top choice of beauty magazines like InStyle and Allure for several years in a row. Lancome mascara also comes in unique colors, like blue mascara (which is great for brightening blue eyes).
In a world where price does not always equal quality, the cheaper mascaras on our list are great options for the bargain beauty shopper. Check out number 6 on our list, Maybelline mascara. This mascara is a steal at around $5 per tube and it is available at most pharmacies. Don't let the price fool you though. Many beauty editors and make up artists prefer Maybelline's Great Lash mascara over its higher-priced counterparts. The mascara is so popular that Maybelline estimates they sell one every 1.6 seconds in the United States.
Aside from price and marketing claims, other mascaras on our top searched list have their own qualities to boast about. Number 7, Ocusoft mascara, has a special formula that won't irritate your contacts. SpinLash mascara, number 10, has a gently rotating brush for perfect application every time with no clumps.

Like most women, I’ve tried millions of different anti-aging or anti-wrinkle products. It’s pretty obvious after awhile you think they’re working but they’re not. I tried the LiftSP anti-wrinkle serum www.liftsp.favherbal.com and I’ve got to admit the wrinkles are less noticeable. You know it’s working when other people who know you mention that you look younger. I would recommend LiftSP to anyone who wants to prevent wrinkles or lessen the wrinkles they have.

Staying on topic, the best mascara I have ever used, and still do, is Maybeline 24 hour waterproof mascara. You could cry, get caught in a downpour, go swimming, sleep all night, and your eyelashes still look great in the morning! Best product ever.

I agree...with staying on topic that is. I too love Maybellene, but I would have to say my favorite varies betweens Avon's waterproof brand and Christian Dior "show" brand they are both amazing. Its about 15-20 dollars difference between the two so....quality and price certainly match. We are learning that by watching or 1st lady...J Crew, H & M look as good as chanel whne you wear it well. So ladies shop for a mascara and when you find one that works for you...hold for dear life.

All you hucksters shilling your miracle potions are very annoying. I thought this was supposed to be about mascara and all the comments are strangers peddling quick fixes for anything but.
Maybelline Great Lash mascara is the only one I use. Nothing works so well. Paying more than $5 for a product you're supposed to replace every 3 months anyway is madness.

Yeah, I got disgusted with hyped-up but disappointing mascaras long ago. My improvisation tendencies landed me on a discovery one day, and it is the perfect mascara. However, I'll never tell. It's real cool, doesn't ever smudge, run, nor cake, nor dry your lashes, and it stays on all day and looks natural. It also looks good. So, the mascara companies have lost my busines. They should invent something that works, for those still looking for something that works.

I love Great Lash Mascara by Maybelline. It is $4.49 at
drugstore.com I have been using (as do a lot of makeup artists)

Yes, It was a pain wading through the off-topic shills before getting to add my mascara comments. Do they think they'll sell anything that way?
I was pleased to see my favorite, Lancome Definicils, at the the top of the list. It really IS wonderful, and is an occasional splurge at $20. As I don't wear lots of other makeup (lip color, eye shadow and a bit of liner) I can spend a bit more on mascara. And I even got my lashes complimented by a gay guy at a beauty-supply store ("I KNEW it was Lancome!") But I have to say, that when I'm being cheap, L'Oreal comes in a close second. Maybe the reason is that L'Oreal is owned by the same parent company as Lancome, and their formulas are similar.

I like A von's Daring Curves Mascara. Thick luxurious and non-clumping. Better than dept store brands and cheaper. I get at http://www.everydayfabulous.com and there are always sales and free shipping.

I definitely feel best when I have on mascara (my choice is great lash too), a red lip gloss(not shocking red) and feel good about my weight. I don't like to cake on makeup. I feel better about myself when I look fresh faced and natural and I know my boyfriend (of 2 months!) thinks women that look better natural and toned than when they "put on a face" and are bony.

I only buy 'cruelty-free' products.

I used the top Lancome mascaras for years, but my teenage daughter introduced me to Cover Girl LashExact and I've never looked back. At about $7 a tube, it's wonderful. There is a waterproof variety and a few other varieties. Check it out!

One mascara that you didn*t mention and that is reasonably priced is Almay.. Alot of the high priced mascaras cause eye irration but Almay gives your eyes a beautiful even long look without the buring and watery eyes.. I*ve uses it for years and love it .. also it doesn*t smear underneath your eyes in the warm weather.. I consider it to be the top of the line.. you can keep the expensive ones .. Why pay that price just for the name when Almay does it just the same..

When I was using Mascara the only one that really worked was Definicil by Lancome. Then I tried to the newer Maybellines and they really worked, although seemed to disappear as the day wore on.
But the best so far is to go to my all-around good salon and have a professional apply fake lashes.
For $30.00(the cost of a good mascara) they look real and stay on for about 3 weeks! Saves me a bundle of time when I have to put on make-up and I look good even when I don't have any make-up on.
If you're stretched for time in the morning this is the way to go.
I tried doing it myself. Trust me, it's worth the money to have a professional do it, just don't use the 'long' ones. Those do look fakey and use dark or light brown.

What about Revlon Fabulash? My eyes water with all mascaras - my skin is sensitive.
By Barbara Dunn on Feb 5th 2009 at 8:16AM
the best anti-aging i ever used that works and you see a diffrence is Shaklee infuselle this really works and the cost is unbelievable compared to what all these people are paying. I would give this a try. ausume stuff.

Lancome mascara is around25 bucks. Freakin women are such idiots. No wonder why they are in credit card hock. L Oreal is Lancome except its the drugstore brand. So all you idiots who spend 25 bucks on a mascara should have your heads blown off.

I have sensitive eyes and wear contacts. Waterproof mascaras just don't work for me because the removers irritate my eyes. While I like the Maybelline products, they also irritate my eyes. So...what I'm using now is L'oreal. The product is great when you first open the tube, but quickly becomes clumpy and difficult to apply without clumps. I definitely can't afford the Lancome, so will have to try some of the other products mentioned.

Ladies, I thought the topic was about your favortie mascara?? So anyway, I have used alot of different mascara's i.e., Avon, Estee Lauder, Prescriptives, Maybelline, Cover Girl, Almay, so as you can see I have tried a variety of mascara's for me there is only one true love.. Lancome.. all of their mascara's do the trick. you have to find which one you like best for your eyelashes...It is a bit pricey it went up to $25.00 a tube. since you have to buy a new one just about 6-8 weeks..if you use it everyday like me. But even so I always go back to it. I also use Loreal in place of it when I cant splurge on myself. All the weight loss products are interesting though...
