I don't work for the company or anything but tried a sample of these in Costco one day They have regular flavors with oats and berries and such, but the one I like is the coffee flavor. You get full from eating them , as they have that satiety thing going on....
NU GO bars at their website Nugonutrition.com

Nuts to stabilize blood sugar?? Every meal should contain a carb, protein, and fat to stabilize blood sugar.
1700 cal per day diet.
Example: 1 meal. 50 gram carb, 25 gram protein, 5 grams of fat (5 x per day). This is a 55% carb, 25% protein and 15% fat type diet. Stabilizing blood sugar is the key to fat loss. Just dont starve your brian by not giving it enough carbs....(brain requires 120 grams carbs per 24 hours) When the brain doesnt get enough carbs yu break down muscle for sugar...which leads to a lowering of your metabolism...muscle = metabolism

My 55 lb. weight loss has been sustained for over 4 years. I follow the South Beach recommendations, watching carbs and reading labels. One thing that "ticks me off" is Kraft South Beach prepared frozen foods. The Sodium is almost a day's required amount. That is ridiculous. One other thing that bothers me is programs like Jennie Craig, etc. may be good, but they don't teach you how to read labels and the weight just returns, after your wallet is empty. But I am so pleased with my 3rd chance at life. I am 83 years young.

Wow ! I just love reading everyone's comments and ideas on what they do to lose weight. I agree with so many of you, eat less, move more. I lost over 130 lbs by doing just that and yes I've tried it all. I just kept adding new idea's and cutting certain things out ( yes I still have wine LOL ) and my life has changed in so many ways. I have a few favorite sites http://www.lowcarbsdieting.com has a ton of information on low carb diets and just idea's even if you are not doing low carb. I also love Power Max protien bars. Usually safeway or Longs will have them on sale for 10 for 10.00 which is awesome and they make quick go to meals instead of doing the drive through thing. I also like the natural way of things and like http://www.riversbendherbs.com for herb information. I take quite a few things now but love the parsley especially when PMS'ing. No more bloat and it's wonderful ! Thanks to everyone for posting their weight loss tips and sites, great article :)

The best granola bar is gRAWnola, available at www.gRAWnola.com. The fruits are all organic, the nuts soaked in water, and it is prepared at a sub-113 degree temperature, for optimal nutrient/protein absorption.

Thank you John Cook and Al for your great advise and ideas. I fell on to this web site by accident and thought at first that all you Guys were bogus product pushers until I got to you two.
I started today with a 2 mile walk this morning after refocusing my meditation and visualisation. I am prepared to "just do it" My plan is to get out walking/jogging in the fresh air then I can focus on my healthy eating. I find the book by Shakti Giwain Creative Visualization just great. Here goes.

My husband and I got on a healthier path by going to an incredible health center called Transformations in St. Helena, California. They teach you how to eat right, exercise, and discover why you were not healthy in the first place. As part of the education, they even include cooking classes and trips to the grocery store and a restaurant! That was 80 pounds ago for my husband, 40 and holding for me. Our cholesterol has also plummeted, and he is off his diabetes and hypertension medications. They planted the seed; we watered...and it took root. We feel like new people.

Four years ago I weighed 198 lbs. My Doctor told me if I lost about 25 lbs I would not be a type II diabetic. I went on the Adkins "diet" and started working out. I lost the 20 lbs and ended up at 145 lbs (which is a good weight for a 66 year old that is 5' 6"). I have not gained any of the weight back. I watch my carbs and sugar intake. THANKS Adkins!

Actually, you can eat a lot & lose weight. I've done it. The secret is What you eat. A tablespoon of mayonaise or butter has the same calories as a pound of cooked spinach or mushrooms, or asparagus.
Soups are great because you can fill-up on them & they are mostly zero calorie water. Email me for more info...alfredschrader@aol.com
