I would not recommend buying Louis Vuitton - I paid over $650.00 for a small purse and after two years, the strap broke apart and Louis Vuitton told me it was unreparable and they did not stand behind it. That's $325.00 per year for the purse amortized. The reason to pay that kind of money for a purse is for it to last, and the company should stand behind their products.

Kind of really love Jimmy Choo handbags. Just as fashionable as the shoes but classy enough so it should be in style for at least a few years.

I'm really surprised noone has mentioned the Brahmin bag. It is very classy and rich looking. The leather is tooled to resemble crocodile, and they do a pretty good job. I have several and always get nice comments.

Meh, I'm happy with my $20 bag from Wal Mart. Doesn't last really long, but I don't feel bad about it not lasting long.

I agree with the post about not buying purses on credit! That's just plain crazy. And that's actually why I'm a fan of the Miche Bag. It's a classic shape worth investing in (won't go out of style) and with the inexpensive shells I can still follow trends (love the giraffe!) and coordinate outfits without dropping hundreds of dollars on bags I can only use for that season!

I am a dedicated Coach customer. The reason is because it is the only bag that has so far lasted 10 times longer an any other bag that I have and this is comming from a person who when using another brand it barely makes it a year without tearing. I have a coach bag that I use on a daily basis for the past 3 years and has not even the smallest sign of a tear or thread coming out anywhere.

I am a Coach addict! I've had Dooney's, Louis's, as well as Gucci's. But my new found love is Guess. They may be a little cheaper, but they carry quite a nice line and A LOT of there purses are like a Hobo style if you like Big purses.

This year I went with Gucci's "Hysteria" line. As someone who works in Marketing, you have to wonder when a summer hit song is called "Disturbia" and then a line of carpet-bagger-type, tapestry bags are called after another "ia";-)
All levity aside, it was a nice change from the norm, and I am a "Justin Case" person--in relationships, and in life--I take my all my necessities with me in a bag (Sephora makeup that paid their rent last month, Listerine packets-in case "Justin" is around, etc...)
The big bag carries it all.

I love hermes bags-have 3 and hope to own more. They never go out of style. My favorite style is the birkin but I do have one kelly. I get flattering comments on my bags. These are not cheap and I work hard for every cent that I spend on them. I take very good care of my family and pets-then spend what I can afford afterward on my personal possessions. No one goes without so I can carry a designer bag. For all those haters out there, if you think it is such a waste of money why do you carry poorly made plastic imitations of our bags?

I was out shopping today, empty stores, very few buying, and crap for merchandise. I highly doubt anyone is buying these handbags in any kind of numbers. Maybe selling, but not buying. Nice fantasy story though. Keep up the fairy tale telling.
