Life is full of little scares. Some days you panic that you will be late to work and other days you might be terrified to have your in-laws over. Most people are able to cope with these fears, but what if the thought of confronting your phobia sent you into a panic?FDR's famous fear quote says, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Try telling that to the people who suffer from phobias. Phobias are really forms of anxiety disorders, but people who experience these phobias often exhibit symptoms of other disorders that make their phobias harder to cope with than just your average fear.
The top searched phobia on our list is a fear of leaving home or a safe place. Agoraphobes are terrified to go out in public and sometimes experience symptoms of panic disorders when they venture outside of their comfort area. More people than you would expect experience types of social anxiety. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, approximately 15 million Americans over the age of 18 have a social phobia.
There are mental health programs to help you cope with your phobia. For example, people who suffer from Emetophobia, a fear of vomiting, often need anorexia treatment as well because they are also afraid to eat.
Can you guess which one of these phobias would make someone afraid of Halloween postcards? Or which phobia Frontier Airlines would hate? Click on our list of the top searched phobias and find out!

What I fear the most is being robbed by a black man with a weapon. Even if I give him my wallet, I know my wife and I will be killed. Read the papers

I have fear of public speaking. This has truley kept me from doing so many things in my life. I would have been a politician if I could have been able to talk to people without being nervous and speaking in front of large groups.

I am most afraid of snakes, then rats. I don't fear spiders. Also heights, and if kids are playing with balloons, I am terrified; if a balloon pops, I will almost jump out of my skin. I know it's silly, but I can't overcome these things. I was in the army two years, so that may explain the balloons.

my phobias in order of importance are mottephobia and entomophobia/acarophobia. My query is , how many people share the first one? I've found 3 people at my job who also claim it. If you have it, Moths send you screaming for the hills.
