I use a product called ambiatol. not sure if it has ambien or something like it but it works and u can order it online without a physician etc. I dont go to bed without using it, puts me right out, clear headed in the morning.

I had trouble sleeping for most of my adult life but a friend of mine recommended that I try a product called 'Ambiatol'(http://www.ambiatol.com/). So I looked it up on the web and bought a bottle. Since then I've been sleeping like a baby. Give it a try, it helped me maybe it'll help you.

Be careful with Ambien. I used it for years and suddenly it quit working and started to make me feel awful. I am very excited about the products listed and will certainly try them as soon as I can. I do not sleep well and am tired all day.

I have been having issues on and off since I started taking Effexor XR (150mg). I am not certain if taking it at bedtime would help me sleep better than taking it in the morning and I am also wondering if taking Melatonin prior to sleep time would counter the Effexor.
Thanks to anyone than can help me : )

www.Ambiatol.com has been around for years. I started using it after my doctor stopped prescribing Ambien for me. It really helps me wind down after a stressful day.

You really need to determine why you can't sleep before you start buying and trying a bunch of different products.
1. Are you depressed...this could be causing the problem.....try an antidepressant(effexor xr), but have your thyroid tested before going on antidepressants.
2. Are you bipolar...do you have manic highs with lots of energy and you have periods of no energy...to be bipolar you have got to be constantly having this problem....get on seroquel(200-300mg) and take only at night....this stuff will get you to sleep and keep you asleep. The highs associated with bipolar is what's keeping you up.
Good Luck!!!

My husband has had sleep problems for the past 20 years, I use to be able to fall asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. About 6 years ago, menopause set in and I spent hour after hour also staring at the ceiling. I read with interest all your comments. Especially regarding the TV in the room. We got a large screen in our bedroom around the same time and my husband who is disabled watches TV until 2 or 3 am. Now I wonder just how much that is contributing to my problems. I have tried the popular sleep aids and they don't seem to work for me. BTW, I have had two Drs tell me the recommended dose for ambien of 10mg per night is wrong if you buy the generic version you need to double it to work.

I have been on Effexor XR for some time now and still have difficulty sleeping. I find that taking it in the evening is a bit better as it is near the 150 mg's effective time period, however, I still have some difficulty sleeping. I have Melatonin that I would like to take just prior to sleep time but am wondering if it will counteract the Effexor XR. Also, if the Melatonin is OK to take with Effexor XR, how much is OK? Thank you in advance to any who can provide input.

I tried over the counter sleep aids like tylenol PM and I've had prescription sleep aids that gave me sleep but also had side effects or after affects (couldn't get up next morning) - the best so far is Quick2Sleep that melts in your mouth, works fast, and solves my problem.

Try eating oatmeal in the evening. It feels your stomach without all the calories and leaves me sleepy. Use skim milk and oatmeal with whatever flavor you like. It helps and may help keep you regular as well....

All these natural remedies, the producers need to
get together a form a free sample kit, containing
a few of each of their products. I've had no success with some of the natural remedies, and it would be
nice to see a company like 'Puritans Pride' to carry
a free sample with a few of each of these remedies so people can evaluate how if any, these natural remedies really work or not. Thus far I have very little faith in their results. It seems with so much hoodoo, a company like 'Puritans Pride' which has millions of users would include a free sample in an order and if any of this stuff works it would pay off big time for the customer and the manufacturer.
All companies have samples, and getting them out into the hands of the people who use existing services would actually work for the manufacturer and the customer. Its a lot of work, hunting for products having little faith in them in the frist place.

Alcohol used to do the trick until I hit 40 years of age. Once I stopped that, I was given Tranxene, 7.5 MG's. And now, due to financial worries, Trazodone HCL 50 MG's works great with the Tranxene.
For a week or two I had weird dreams on Trazodone, an anti-depressant. But now, when I take the pills, I'm out within 1/2 hour and no more bad dreams.

I first heard about melatonin tablets when I was flying overseas. Some of the parents were going to take it on the plane so they could sleep and avoid jetlag. I use melatonin that I get from GNC. I put a few tablets under my tongue. They are lightly flavored with cherry. ZZZZZZ... I'm happy. I know that the best remedy for getting a good night's sleep is regular exercise and a regular bedtime, but I have been lazy and undisiciplined.
