It has happened to almost everyone. You wake up in the morning and are horrified to see that a zit has sprouted on your face overnight. Worst of all is that you know no matter what you do, it isn't going to disappear in an instant and make up can only help so much. What you can do to expedite the process is use an acne treatment.Everybody's skin is different, so what works for your best friend might not work for you. To add to the confusion, there are a ton of different creams, pills and medications that all claim to be fast acting acne treatments. You might have to try a few different treatments before you find one that shows results on your skin. Beware though, don't stress your skin out more by trying a bunch of new acne treatments at once. That might just make things worse.
In a perfect world, acne solutions would help clear up the acne you already have while preventing future break outs, but that isn't always possible. Your acne is caused by tons of different factors, including stress, hormones, bacteria and genetics. One treatment can't tackle all of the causes, so each works in different ways.
Topping our list of the topped searched acne treatments on AOL Search is Proactiv. You have probably seen the infomercials with celebrities talking about how well it works. Their system has several different steps to help cure acne using a topical treatment.
If you are really serious about being acne free and you're not just looking for a quick fix, visit a dermatologist for a prescription acne medication. The most searched of these is Differin, a topical gel that helps prevent blocked pores. Other acne remedies include acne pills, such as Minocin, the seventh most searched treatment.

Proactive was no active for me. Murad made me worse. Differin at night and benzoclin in the morning helped a little bit but now i have no insurance and cant afford it. So now I'm trying natural remedies like certain diets and natural topical stuff which may make my overall body healthy but do little for my face. I've tried different internal cleanses and they made my face worse.

The best is DERMALOGICA. YOU'LL JUST NEED THE CLEANSER AND THE SPOT TREATMENT. BOTH OF MY BOYS USE THIS.

Hi Everyone, I use Timeless Prescription® 3 Step Acne Care System. It is an excellent formula. I sell it and it can be found at www.ShopWithRob.com. You have to go under Anti Aging and then Sking Care. You will see Acne Care. It is the best on the market. Most other Acne Care systems use 50% WATER. Take a look at it. E-Mail Me at ShopWithRob@aol.com for further details.

Proactiv is amazing. At least for me it is. It cleared my whole face up in Two weeks. It's nice for something to actually work.

I had used Proactiv for about 8 yrs. It helped to an extent, but I still got numerous breakouts on a regular basis. I started taking an Omega-3 fish oil supplement & using Olay's Total Effects anti-aging cleanser w/blemish control and finally, at age 44, my skin is in the best condition it's ever been.

Hi Everyone, I use Timeless Prescription® 3 Step Acne Care System. It is an excellent formula. Most other acne care systems use 50% water. That is why most do not work. *PARENTS* do not put your kids on pills. The side effects are horrible. Go to www.ShopWithRob.com. Go under Anti Aging, Skin Care, Acne Care. It is comparable in price to all of the others. If you have any questions e-mail me at ShowWithRob@aol.com. This is my business. This stuff Works!

I used for Proactiv for years, I worked for them for a year as well. It started off working great, my skin eventually built up an immunity to it and broke out even worse! I started using the Clinique Acne Solutions kit and it works great!! I have oily skin and this kit is great...what makes it even better is a starter kit is only 35 dollars, it has lasted me almost two months and it is still over half way full. I highly recommend this product if you would like to save money every month like myself!

Forget buying expensive products. Here's what has worked for me after trying many over the counter products and prescription...TOOTHPASTE at night before you go to sleep on acne spots. See the difference next day!!

I am 34 and have tried everything from differin, benzoclin, accutane to proactive. I just started using Skinmedica's acne system in July and I SWEAR BY IT..it is a 3 step process that works! I have EXTREMELY oily skin, more than anyone I have ever met and it has cut out the oil and acne. I will get 1 or 2 zits every once in a while but they are very minor compared to the big daddies I used to get. I believe this product can only be purchased through a dermaologist or plastic surgeon. Check out their website. www.skinmedica.com.

BeautiControl has a new acne line called Skinlogics Clear - one set lasts 3 months long and costs about $75.00 and is guaranteed. All new formulas contain BeautiControl’s exclusive RestoraClear™ Complex, a botanical blend of skin-clearing vitamin C, detoxifying and purifying botanical extracts and encapsulated salicylic acid to help loosen the dead skin cell buildup that often blocks pores and leads to blemishes. The salicylic acid stays on skin even after rinse-off. Check it out at www.beautipage.com/sandiotero

I am a 37 year old male who, until a few years ago, still got breakouts like a teenager! I had been to doctors since my early 20's and antibiotics and topical treatments would work for a while and it was if my acne became resistant to each and I would break out again. About three years ago a new derm put me on "maintenance accutane". I take one 20mg capsule every OTHER day (normal treatment can be 3 A DAY) and my skin remains almost perfectly clear year round! It's amazing. When the seasons change I seem to get some mild breakouts that I can clear up pretty fast on my own. Otherwise, I am clear. If your doctor will prescibe accutane to be used this way, I highly recommend it.
