I was watching a funny movie this weekend where the father dyes his hair to hide the fact that he is going gray and losing his hair. He looked so ridiculous with his jet black hair that their dog kept barking at him because it didn't recognize him. I was laughing pretty hard when it occurred to me: do people really go this far to hide their thinning hair?It is estimated that over half of all men will experience male pattern baldness by the time they are 50. But it is not only men that experience hair loss, hair loss in women is very common as well, especially in women who are going through menopause. Genes play a big roll in determining baldness, but also some medications cause hair loss.
I started to wonder what measures people take to stop hair loss and regrow hair. Besides wearing a hat to cover up bald spots, I decided to look at what other AOL Search users were searching for to remedy their hair loss.
The top two of our list are two generic brands of medication used as both topical and oral treatments. Finasteride is commonly known as Propecia and Proscar, and Minoxidil is popularly known as Rogaine.
More natural treatments include Saw Palmetto, a natural extract, and Shen Min, a special type of hair vitamin. A lot of people turn to hair transplant surgery, which shows more immediate results because a hair follicle is directly implanted into your skin.
Not all treatments will work for everyone, and there are a lot of scams out there, so beware. Remember that hair in a spray can? What do you use to treat your baldness? Let us know. For more about balding search AOL Search or look for hair loss treatments on AOL Shopping.

Evening Primrose and Inositol worked for me when I was losing hair. It actually made it thicker than it was before I began losing it. This was about nine months ago and my hair is now as thick as it was when I was a young woman. I'm 58.

I think the most common cause of hair loss in women is anemia, which so many of us have. Best to take a non-constipating iron pill and b-vitamins first, to see if in a week or so hair stops falling out, before doing the expensive stuff.
If it works, you should probably eat foods that ward off anemia rather than the pills alone, since the foods are more efficient - pumpkin seeds, red meat, leafy greens, etc.

Hello everyone! I am 19 and I always had this problem of light hair. All my friends used to have really good and healthy hair but I was always deprived of this beauty. Now after continuous use of this I have the healthiest hair with all that shine and buff that I have always desired. This tonic is seriously doing wonders. Give it a try!
