Choosing a Pain Killer is a Pain

Unless you're a super hero, chances are you've needed to take pain medication before. And when you were looking for pain relief, you really needed something that would work fast to dull your pain. With migraines, aches, sprains and broken bones, the list of ways your body can hurt is endless. So when I got a headache yesterday, I decided to look and see what other AOL users rely on for pain relief.

The widely known drug Vicodin came in at the top of our search list, probably because it can be used as a mild-to-severe pain reliever, depending on the potency. It is commonly prescribed for anything from pain after dental work to knee pain relief. Pain killers, such as Celebrex, are also a wonderful relief for those suffering from arthritis pain.

If you prefer a topical relief for your pain, a surprising medical treatment that I had never heard of appeared on our list. BIOFREEZE comes as a spray, gel or roll-on medicine and contains a special herbal extract from a South American holly shrub.

Some of these drugs are so strong that you need a prescription for them. Others you can find at an online pharmacy or your local pharmacy, like CVS. It all depends on how fast you need relief!
