With summer here, many of my friends have been talking about one thing: losing weight. As we started talking about all the different diet plans out there, one friend asked, "Why diet, when you can just pop a diet pill?" Is it really that easy? Being completely naive about diet pills and diet supplements, I decided to pull a list of the top searched diet pills to find out what all the hype was about. I can see why Alli made it to the top of the list. According to their customer testimonials, this pill, along with diet and exercise, can increase weight loss up to 50 percent. However, Alli is known to have some nasty side effects as well. According to their website, you will pass something "that looks like the oil on top of a pizza" out your body. Are the benefits worth the costs? Find out more at AOL Body.
Did you know phentermine received FDA approval back in 1959? It's still the top searched diet pill today. It's strange to think people have been using phentermine for so long.
I have to say, I'm a little skeptical of all these miracle pills and I wonder if they really lead to healthy weight loss. There are so many diet pills that out there that I question how safe they really are. Some of these diet pills I have actually heard of like Hoodia and Hydroxycut. But what exactly are Meridia and Lipovox?
Dieting is hard! Quick diets don't help you lose weight long term and exercise regimens are hard to stick to. Maybe diet pills really are the best way how to lose weight effectively.
Yes, popping a diet pill does sound much easier than counting your calories or exercising, but do they really work? Have you tried any of these diet pills? And if so, what worked for you? Try searching for diet pills on AOL Search. Or, if diet pills aren't your thing, you can check out AOL Body for weight loss tips.

2. Phentermine
3. Hoodia
4. Hydroxycut
5. Slimquick
6. Meridia
7. Xenical

Great article, but have to say, after years of trying a " quick fix " many years ago, which ended up giving me permanent damage, I just did it the ol' fasioned way. Running, Eating right, cutting out wine and ice cream and sugar ! I dropped 130 lbs and have an entire new life. I did use a few websites for ideas, etc.. but the one I used the most was
http://www.healthy-diet-news.com
They do offer some diet stuff at the bottom.. but the articles and ideas are great ! Then to reward myself to keep myself motivated, I, being quite the purse addict would reward for every 10 lbs lost, a handbag ! I found a great website for that as well LOL.. that is http://www.purseempire.com
So far so good ! Just keep up the good work and keep focused ! You are so worth it !!!

Because I had used Phen-Fen many years ago and it had affected my heart, I have not (and CAN'T NOT)use any diet pills. Then when they started advertising "alli" pills explaining that they do not affect the heart or metabolism, that they just get rid of @ 30% of the fat you eat, I bought it as soon as it came out. It's been 1 year now(JUNE) and I'm still wearing size 8-was wearing 12-14 before alli!! Going to the restroom a few extra times is sooo worth looking great!!!

I have tried Meridia and Alli (Alli is the same medication as Xenical, just a much lower dosage). Meridia worked great, I lost 40 pounds in about 4 months. This pill works by decreasing your appetite. The problem is that I would sometimes go literally all day with nothing more than a banana in me because I never got hungry. I would remember to eat when I stood up and found myself dizzy and with low blood sugar. When I went off the medication I gained all the weight back and then some. I've been on Alli now for about 4 months. The most important thing to know about Alli is that it doesn't promise to be a miracle pill. This isn't for people who are 10 lbs over weight and want to fit into a swim suit by next week. It's for people who are truly overweight and are willing to relearn how to eat and willing to exercise. It helps you lose an extra pound or two in addition to the weight you would lose on your own, so instead of losing 1 pound a week, with Alli you may lose 1.5 to 2 pounds a week. For someone who just wants to drop a few pounds, this hardly seems worth it, but to someone who's tired of being 30, 40 pounds overweight, then that extra pound is a big deal. Alli so far has been the diet med I've tried that's worth it, I have learned how to eat healthy everyday - not to diet until I lose the extra weight. I don't have to resort to buying special diet or dehydrated foods. I go to the supermarket and buy ice cream and chips like everyone else, only I get lite ice cream and fat free or baked chips and measure my portions (no eating from the bag or carton) and I account for every calorie and every gram of fat. The booklets that come along with the Alli capsules also show which fast foods are safe. Thankfully, I haven't experienced any side effects. I see myself eating the same way after I've lost the rest of my excess weight and no longer need the Alli.

Give me a break!
Diet pills do not work. Period!
Eating right and exercise are the only way.
If diet pills really worked, then doctors would have been prescribing them for years and this country would not be known as the "fat" country.

NEVER put Alli to the test! Follow the diet plan. I took an Alli with chili & was passing orange grease for 2 days. I couldn't even do #1 without grease making its way out of my body! GROSS! It works. Just do it right & don't mess around!

I started using Relacore last January I weighed 217lbs. After 9 months I weighed 132lbs. my Doctor never believed in diet pills, but now he recomends his overweight patients try Relacore, my friends told me I must have worked real hard to loose all that weight and I said sure did raising a glass of water and a couple Relacore morning, afternoon and night, but I also park farther away from the enterance when I went to the store so I did exercise that way. I know everybody is different I have known people who took Relacore and had some bad side affects, I did not kind of like the person who did not have the oily number two, that just shows you everybody is different what works for one may not work for someone else, I would guess that is why there are so many diet aides on the market. I have not taken Relacore since October or November of last year and I still weight between 132-141, that stuff change the amount of food I ate and once you get in the habit of doing something you usually stick with it if it works for you. But please do not go run out and buy Relacore because it worked for me, do some research and try the one that is right for you and of course consult your Doctor before starting any kind of diet aide. And do not expect immediate results it was about two months before started to work for me. So what ever diet aide you might choose stick with for aleast a couple months before giving up, and lastly if you have any bad side affects it might be wise to stop taking it and try your second or third choice. Thank you for your kind attention and God Bless.

I have been on phentermine for about a year on and off. What I can tell you is that I am over 35 and as someone said eariler, the weight doesn't come off so easy after 30. I was extremely unhappy and went to the Dr. I felt I was only eating one meal a day and couldn't understand why I kept gaining weight and couldn't loose. She said are you eating breakfast? I told her no I'm not a breakfast eater. A coffee and I'm off. She said there is my problem. You have to eat breakfast to kick off your matabolisum. 3 meals a day. No white's. 100% wheat bread. OF course water and put me on Phentermine with a 1600 calorie not diet. But healthy eating program. I didn't notice alot at first as I felt I had been eating more than ever before. 3 months later 35 lb's came off! I was super excited. Everyone noticed and especially myself! I still have 30 lb's to loose and like I said have been on and off of it. If you do the 1600 calories a day and stay away from the white stuff...Yea it works awesome!! Also it's a happy pill, for those of you who know what I mean. You have more energy and makes you more alive and happy. :)

Hi...I am over 60 years old and am using alli...it really does work...and has helped me lower my cholesterol too! Seems that by injesting half of the fat, you injest half the cholesteral. I do have the side effects when I cheat. If you slip up and eat anything with lots of fat...you will pay the price. I have lost about 20 lbs. in two months and really haven't suffered in the process.

I started taking phentermine in May of 2006, besides a few heart palps. I had alot of energy but did notice I was'nt hungry very often. I also started eating healthier. by Aug 2006 I had lost 38 lbs. but after being on it for a while I noticed that I had to force myself to eat. I lost so much weight my freinds and family starteds to complain. 58 lbs. in all of 8 months. Then in Jan. 2007 I was diagnosed with severe animia, then ultimately with Leukimia. I have been told by Doc's that the phen did not contribute to my illness. But once I got off them and all my treatments I gained all the weight back.

Get off your butts and run! Why are we so willing to pop a magic pill?
I have lost 40 lbs in the last year, just by changing my diet and a short workout a couple times a week. I am over 40 and have an underactive thyroid, so it is even harder for me than most people to lose weight. But, I made a decision to lose it.
If something is easy (like a pill) it is not worth it.

A few people have commented zylene and some other weight loss products. Whats amazing about Zylene is that its natural and organic. I know products like Alli have made people sick or they need to go to the bathroom all day. The only side affect I had with zylene was a slight headache and once I started drinking more water I had no problems.
I lost 13 pounds and then maintained my weight as my body fat came down. Its by far the best weightloss product I have tried.
