Summer will be here before we know it. It's such a great time for vacations, beach trips and visiting theme parks. What I love most about the theme parks, besides the thrilling rides, is the fun filled atmosphere. Where else can you pretend to be a kid again and get away with it?Before I start planning my summer theme park visits, I decided to find out what the top searched theme parks were on AOL Search. Of course, I was not surprised when Disney World and Disneyland showed up at the top of the list. Who doesn't love hanging out with Mickey Mouse and friends?
Disney can get really expensive for a family, so it's nice to know that there are cheaper options that could be just as fun. I decided to do some research on Dollywood, Cypress Gardens and Cedar Point. Dollywood located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is a one-of-a-kind Smoky Mountain Family Adventure. Besides the rides, Dollywood is known for the best live entertainment that showcases country, bluegrass, mountain and gospel music.
Cypress Gardens which opened in 1936, was Florida's first theme park. Originally known for it's gardens, water ski shows and Southern Belles the park has expanded by adding rides, attractions and a water park. Cedar Point located in Sandusky, Ohio, has 17 roller coasters, which is more than any other park in the world. If you are a coaster lover than this theme park is for you.
What is your favorite theme park? Did it make our list? If not try searching for theme parks on AOL Search or check out AOL Travel for special deals.

Disney is the best, I was there for new years and went to epcot for new years eve. So much fun but being there for 4 days I ate like a pig.
I started my new years resolution with zylene and it helped me with my weightloss.
Check the site above or this amazing blog of Ryan who has lost over 80 pounds so far.

I LOOVE SeaWorld. I practically live there during the summer; I go to the camps, go to the parks, and when I lived down in Jax, FL I went 2x each year!

Cedar Point is the best. I've been to Disney World, Epcot,Six Flags, Busch Gardens, and Sea World and none of them even compares to Cedar Point. I guess that's why it was voted "the best amusement park in the world for ten years straight.

Avoid Cedar Point, they are deficient in ride maintenance and many rides are often broken down for days. My vacation was ruined when Millenium Force was out of commission for several days including my whole vacation there...and the owners don't care at all.

Cedar Point Rocks! Coaster Capital plus an awesome water park. They have done an great job being a seasonal park. I wish Michigan Adventure could be as good, which is also owned by Cedar Fair.

Cedar Point is a great amusement park for people who like fast and tall roller coasters. Go in late May/early June when kids are still in school. I went during Memorial Day week a few years ago and had hardly any lines.

There is one park they have left out. I have been to alot of parks listed but one of the nicest parks you could ever go to would be Hershey Park. Great coasters, great family park and that wonderful smell of chocolate.

the woman who said that Cedar Point doesnt take care of their park is nucking futs. i worked there in 06 and will be this summer as well and the take very good care of their park, especially fixing rides. its the safest park in the world. along with the best. and theyve been the number one theme park in the world for 10 years in a row. explain that one.

Silver Springs in Ocala, FL is great, the kids loved the animals and us older folks liked the glass bottom boats, the rides and the beauty of the theme park

I can't believe Silver Dollar City, in Branson, Mo is not in the top 10.
For me, SDC is the only number one theme park. I just won't go to any other park.

What happened to Hershey Park? I take My grandchildren just about every year. As far as money goes it is very reasonable in priceing. The kids LOVE it. Give it a chance . My grandkids said at first oh they dident want to go to Hershey Park but after they got there theyn had a ball. We are sold on it.

Our family visits Kings Island (#10 on the list ) every year. It is located near Cincinnati, Ohio and it is exceptionally clean, has an area designated for the little ones (Nickelodeon character themed rides and Nick characters abound) and many coasters. It's a great family park thats also very inexpensive park compared to the others on the list.

Cedar Point is the best park in the world. My family would take Cedar Point over Disney any day. I think if you are over age 10 and love fast rides and a clean and well maintained park, then Cedar Point is for you! The lake is such a beautiful site from the top of Magnum -- it's like a picture post card with the Lake Erie Islands out there in the blue lake. Beautiful place, beautiful location!

Please avoid the Hershey theme park in Pennsylvania! My name is Travis and I live in Oakdale, Ca which was home of one 2nd Hershey plant ever built. You see for many years Hershey had two plants, the original in Pennsylvania and the one in my town Oakdale, Ca. February of this year Hershey closed the Oakdale plant and relocated it to Mexico. The one reason Hershey was ever in Oakdale was because of the milk and nuts grown here. So not only were the thousands of veteran employees out of a job so are many area farmers. Let's Thank NAFTA!

Holiday World and Splashin Safari in Santa Claus IN is a great theme park. They have three of the fastest wooden roller coasters in the US. The water park is awesome! It has been voted the cleanest and friendliest park for several years. They offer free drinks thoughout the park. It is definently worth checking out sometime. My kids and I love it.
