I love the spring season. Flowers blooming, tree leaves growing and the smell of fresh cut grass fills the air. That all sounds great for people that don't have allergies. However, if you do suffer from allergies, we have some remedies for you.I thought it would be helpful to find out what our top searched allergy remedies were on AOL Search. Common OTC and prescription allergy medicines such as Zyrtec, Claritin and Sudafed can help treat most of your allergy symptoms. If these medications don't help your symptoms or medications are not your type, there are some other alternatives.
Natural allergy treatments such as the neti pot, quercetin and stinging nettle can be as effective as prescription allergy pills without the medication. Neti pot, also know as the nose bidet, flushes out all the debris clogging your sinuses and helps alleviate pain. Quercetin is a natural plant-derived compound (called a bioflavonoid) that helps suppress histamine production in your body. Stinging nettle is a weed, sold in capsules, that inhibits the body's ability to produce histamine.

Hi everyone, my 5 year old has allergies and asthma. I was tired of giving him Claritin and then discovered he was having an adverse reaction to it. He was itching his body uncontrollably. We stopped that drug asap. Anyway, I did some research and found a product by Source Naturals called Allercetin. Works great, it has that product Quercetin in it and has really helped his problems. I buy it like 10-15 boxes at a time from webvitamins.com. Give it a try!!

Go to naet.com to learn about this treatment and to find a trained practitioner in your area. NAET is a treatment that cures allergies by using principles of Chinese medicine and other knowledge. Natural. Implemented only by licensed health practitioners. No medicine is involved. The future is here and it's amazing.

2- 3 grams of MSM, i havent had hay fever for years now..... it works.

Neti pot takes a little getting used to, but it's revolutionary. I'd had it with pills and the mood swings they caused. Neti is relaxing and refreshing, but a lot of doctors don't even mention it because they think people will think it's gross. Get over it, people. Try the neti!
My mom has supressed immune system and was geting pneumonia a lot. Since she's been using the neti daily, it hasn't come back. And the ingrediants couldn't be cheaper.

I had all types of allergies, from certain foods to hay fever, and certain soaps. Now I don't seem to have a problem with any of that since a friend told me about Isotonix Acai, and Isotonix OPC-3. Acai is an Amazon rain forest berry which has the most phytonutrients, and antioxidants of any known friut. OPC-3 is made from grape seed extract, bilberry, citrus, red grape extract, and pycnogenol, which comes from the bark of the French maritime pine tree, and one of the most studied botanicals for it's role in promoting good health. Bonnie this is for you about your ecoquest air cleaner. You might want to google eooquest before stating they are great. They generate ozone into your home which can be deadly, some people have got very sick with lung infections and have severe asthma attacks. They are nothing but a pyramid scheme and are worthless. And for Henriette you got nerve to talk about spelling you might want to spell check before sending out your next comment.

I am looking for somethihg for hives - I have tried every antihistime there is....but the scratching and itching will not go away. This has been going on for over 2 years. Anything out there??
By Lana on Apr 4th 2008 at 12:08AM
I have another vote for NAET - after taking ClaritynD for nearly 10 years on a daily basis I became allergic to antihistamines, and started to have hives from a variety of foods and my antihistamines ... NAET has eliminated most of my hives after three treatments, and there was no medicine involved. It is definitely the best solution for anyone willing to give it a try.

i would like to thank the person for writing this article and everyone that has responded. i have seen some great replies. my story involves my 2 1/2 year old cousin who is my world. he has allergies bigtime. i have a list of what he is allergic to. that list includes chicken, turkey, beef, wheat, corn, peas, oats, rice, soybean, bananas, strawberries, potato, tomato, barley, tuna, peaches and ALL nuts of anykind from peanuts to pinion nuts. he also showed a reaction to an orange flavored life saver candy. he has a cream (elidel) i believe to put on his face when he breaks out from eating something wrong but he also has somekind of medicine they keep in a backpack for him. if he eats peanuts or has a violent reaction then someone is to just stick the needle in his leg immediately and rush him to the nearest hospital. i am constantly trying to better educate myself for his and all allergies in general and articles like this help alot. i will have my cousin ask his dr about quercetin and stinging nettle and also see if honey is something he can eat. as you can tell by all of his allergies anything we can find that he can eat is always a plus. again thanks everyone.

People listen I have a 13yr old with both Asthma and allergies. Trust me the natural way works best. Our bodies are already equipped with HISTAMINE to battle allergies. All the pills above "MUTATE" the irritants that will crop up worse next year. (remember the OZONE) layer is not getting better. The report of suicidal thoughts in Singular, not to mention, the side effects. If there is a natural food store like "Sprouts" or Nature's Health Shoppe in your area. Go to them and get QUERCETIN W/ Bromelain. (120 costs about $17.39 veg caps)The ingredients come from the skin of the berry famiy. And unless you are allergic to PINEAPPLE, the Bromelain comes from the pineapple is a natural anti-spasmatic. Web sites like PennHerb.com is excellent for research. HCBL.com have herbs too and no matter how much you order your shipping is .99 cents. Sinusitis? make some Rosemary, Sage, and Thyme,; boil the water,(you will need a strainer) turn the water off, and drop the leaves of the above in water, steep for 3to5mins strain, let it cool to room temperature, find and clean an old "dropper" and lay back and put that up your nose hold for 30 sec's and blow. You have fought the battle. Mixture only lasts for a week in frig. Always use at room temp. Cleans your nasal passges, beat the allergies nasties naturally. Lovebuggums@aol.com (info)

I have brittle asthma and went to the National Jewish Center in Denver 18 years ago and the very first thing they taught me was to do nasal washes. Using a syringe and warm salt water washes. Do this 2 or 3 times a day and it's amazing how it cuts down on conjestion.

I started using a netti pot about 5 years ago. I used to get sinus infections several times a year that would knock me out for a week. Now when I feel the tickle in my throat I start using the netti pot and within 24 hours everything is fine. I also found it so very useful when I was deployed to Iraq.

I live on a sand dune, full of stinging nettle, all I know about it is that it makes you itch like crazy, it it touches you ( or vice-versa), surely I could use the natural plant? Currently, I take Zyrtec, but am interested in something cheaper!
