Every year I go to western Pennsylvania for the holidays. Don't get me wrong, I love to see my family and always have a good time. But if you have ever been to the mountains of Pennsylvania in November and December, it is pretty cold. Sometimes I really envy those people who take a family vacation instead. Think about it, you get to see your family and you get to tan in the middle of winter. Now that is my kind of holiday. I don't know if I can convince my family to take our holiday festivities elsewhere. It just seems like it is a little untraditional for them. Since it is already mid-November it is probably not going to happen this year ... but maybe I can bring up a trip for next year and get the idea in their heads.
But where do people go for winter vacations? I am definitely thinking somewhere warm! I decided to see what kinds of vacations people were looking for on AOL Search so that I could have some ideas for the fam. I am not really into all-inclusive vacations and my family probably would not want to spend Christmas in Las Vegas. But I would love to go to Mexico or maybe we could take a cruise vacation?

I agree with christine. I live in Palm Springs, Ca. Its beautiful out here in the winter. That why people only live here during winter then move when the 120+ summer comes along.

Arizona is always nice around this time of year. Lots to do and plenty to see, my sister lives in Phoenix and sent me a vaca. guide, it was filled with attractions, restaurants, sites to see, nightlife guide, etc...

Christine, I also live in the Coachella Valley, the desert you describe. Where you not here this past February when it froze, actually the desert can get pretty cold in the winter but better than most other places in the US. You must be going to bed in mid afternoon to miss the real weather.

How can any of us actually talk about beautiful vacation spots when a person like James talks about "throwing food away in front of poor people and burning their valuables to keep warm" in Yugoslavia????? Does such an ignorant being actually live on our beautiful planet? Does he realize the country of Yugoslavia hasn't existed for over 12 years? Does he know anything of compassion?

I went on a winter vacation to Biloxi, MS and used a slot winning system to win over $10,000 in 3 days...I found it on an AOL search and the website has documented proof that it works (WG-2 IRS forms).

Many people, like myself, actually enjoy the winter and look forward to it. Florida is an over-commercialized sauna, and you would not catch me there in the winter for anything. I'll take two feet of snow and sub-zero temperatures any day. Let all the phonies go to Florida and put their vacations on a credit card at 29.99% interest for the next 32 years, trying to impress their "friends." I'm staying right here in the cold and absolutely loving every minute of it.

Take a look at the Turks & Caicos Islands.
Salt Cay in the Turks & Caicos is a very unique destination. There is a great web site that is full of information on Salt Cay: www.saltcay.org Beautiful beaches, great snorkeling, fine dining, and no problems!
