ew Lotus, but one of the throwback kinds like the one in 'Pretty Woman.' I must say that I was kind of surprised. You don't really see cars like that on a normal basis. But the driver looked like he was having such a good time!It made me start thinking about the cars that I have owned in the past. They have all been so utilitarian. I have been seriously thinking about purchasing a new car so maybe my next purchase should be more focused on fun. It would be great to get into something everyday that made me want to drive to work.
I decided to check out the sports cars that people were searching for on AOL Search. Even if I cannot afford a Lotus right now, there have to be some other options out there. I am not a huge fan of the Corvette or the Ferrari. But the Saturn Sky is kind of cute. I am more of an Audi TT or BMW Z4 kind of girl, but neither one made our top list.

There are so many great sport cars out there and I think the cars on the list are great cars for the right driver. Every one of those cars on the list will provide the performance that you would like to have. I disagree with the review stating that the Saturn Sky is a piece of junk. It's not, it's actually one of the best and affordable sport cars out there. It ain't no SL500, which of'course is an amazing car, but for those who want a fun car to drive and to not have to worry about spending too much, the sky offers a lot especially the red line model which has 260hp and
runs from 0 to 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds. And for the review made by madchiyo, you've got to be on drugs to even think that. Cars like the Bentley, Aston Martin, and Porsche's are obviously really good sport cars that should be on the list but this list is based on the most viewed not the most expensive moran, not everyone can afford a car that costs as much as a house. Every car on the list can match more expensive cars in performance, maybe not in quality but every car has it's positives and negatives. Go watch an episode from a show called Top Gear which will have a Mitsu Evo challenge a Lambo on the track and the Evo matched the performance of the Lambo. It will not match the Lambo on a straight run but on handling it will.

"the sky offers a lot especially the red line model which has 260hp and

5.5 seconds is the manual. The automatic is even faster at 5.2 sec from 0-60.

" I bought a Cadillac XLR ..."
I saw one for the first time on the road last week. It is a COOL looking car and with the Cadillac label, I'm sure it is fun and luxurious to drive...

I had a '93 Lotus Esprit...a real head turner! Anyway performance specs for the car were as follows:
0-60 - 4.7 secs
2.3L turbocharged and intercooled 4 cyl.
280HP
Weight as I recall was only around 2,750 lbs as entire body is fiberglass.
Quick? Very quick!

You're all a bunch of idiots. You are all arguing that these ten cars are not the best sports cars when nowhere in this article does it say those are the top 10 sports cars. It simply says they are the most searched for on aol search. You all should read the article before making idiotic posts.

1. I spit out hard evidence. Where's yours? And my Saturn could corner with the best of them. Look it up. You backed nothing up. I want to see the data you have.
2. Again, where's your numbers?
3. I never said Boxsters weren't convertibles, eh???
Chuck proclaimed (without any evidence):
"1) 0-60 times are NOT what "SPORTS" cars are about...unless, perhaps, the 0-60 route has LOTS of corners, eh?
2) ANY Porsche-except a Cayenne--is more "SPORTS" than your Saturn...and many Cayennes will accelerate with your Saturn.
3) Boxsters ARE *convertibles*, eh?"

I am 62 year old female and have always had a sports car. I presently own a Honda 2004 S2000 convertible and love it! Very fast, easy to drive, and it's just perfect for me. When I was young and single, I dated one guy with a 1965 XKE - fabulous! - and another guy with a 1964 Austin Healey 3000... also a really great looking car. I miss the classy wire wheels on sports cars. KT

I forgot to send my condolences to you Chuck, for spending too much on a sports car that's only as good as my $33K Saturn. Haha!!!!

Having owned several British sports cars, I was very leary of Lucas electronics. I have a Jaguar XKE and love it...but. A friend of mine (gear head) looked at it and said, "I'll bet a 289 Cobra engine would just drop right in there."
It did and it goes REALLY FAST. The looks I get with the body of the E Type are typical ga ga but the younger guys notice the not typical growl of the exhaust and, before I can explain...I'm gone! Love my Jabra.
