ew Lotus, but one of the throwback kinds like the one in 'Pretty Woman.' I must say that I was kind of surprised. You don't really see cars like that on a normal basis. But the driver looked like he was having such a good time!It made me start thinking about the cars that I have owned in the past. They have all been so utilitarian. I have been seriously thinking about purchasing a new car so maybe my next purchase should be more focused on fun. It would be great to get into something everyday that made me want to drive to work.
I decided to check out the sports cars that people were searching for on AOL Search. Even if I cannot afford a Lotus right now, there have to be some other options out there. I am not a huge fan of the Corvette or the Ferrari. But the Saturn Sky is kind of cute. I am more of an Audi TT or BMW Z4 kind of girl, but neither one made our top list.

I was not surprised to see at the end of the article that you are a female. Only a woman would refer to a car as "kind of cute", and the 3 cars you like are all low performance and the ones you don't like are the real sports cars.

I have a Ford GT Convertible, 2002 and love it. Have to admit though my favorite all time is the 64 GTO.

I just purchased a Sports Car. After looking at everything I could afford, I got the Pontiac Solstice GXP. (Way hotter than the Sky, IMO). Growing up I always loved Corvettes, but they are very pricey these days...and I actually prefer the older Sting Ray (60's) body style. Very curvy, which is what I found most attractive about the Solstice's looks. I also considered the TT, Boxter, 350Z, and the Z4 before pulling the trigger on the Solstice. Which is SO amazingly fun to drive! THIS was an incrediable top down summer. : )

I bought a 67 mustang as my 1st car. loved it. Bought my 2nd mustang in 94 and am now the proud owner of a 2006 GT convertible as my fun car. I drive a 2004 Titan for everyday use. mustang is still my favorite.

Nothing, for me, compares to the beauty and sexuality of a Jaguar XKE convertable, sixties vintage. The bullet lights, the wire wheels, the style and simply the look...
Wow!

I can't beleive that you put Saturn SKY on the top 10 list. That is one of the worst cars ever made. Come on people , its Saturn !!! Did anybody acctually drove that car and saw how it's poorly made. I have Mercedes SL500 and it's one of the best cars ever and should be between first 3 on the list and it's not even on the list.

Other than the Ferrari, the Lambo and the GT (maybe the Viper) these cars are "poor people's cars", as tacky as their owners (the Lotus would be an exception to that rule, as you definitely get your money's worth in terms of performance). There are no Porsches, no Aston Martins, no Bentleys - so it is safe that this list was made by some white trash, middle America, ignorant loser that sees the Corvette as the world's ultimate machine (I bet they drive a trans-am, a grand prix, or a Pontiac GTO)
What an embarrassment.

I have owned or leased a couple of the cars you mention here and driven several others. My experience with the 350Z was mixed. It is a very sporty car but it is also VERY HEAVY,not a good sporty car feature. I also learned through real use that these cars need VERY frequent alignments! I do not treat it badly either. Insurance is very expensive!Tires are VERY, VERY expensive and dont last long on any of the cars in this piece. The basic Corvette is the best dollar for dollar "bargain" of the bunch I would say the mustang GT (not Shelby) is next best. That is not to say they are by any means low maintenance (None of the cars you mention is low maintenance) but a person of average means (but no kids and a squeeky clean driving record!!!!!)could have on of the U.S. built sports cars and enjoy it.

Even I can't believe this mundane list of "sports" cars! After trying the BMW HT conv, Audi 4 Cabriolet and Audi TT,I just purchased my first one - a 2007 Porsche Boxster. I'm 60 yrs old but not dead. Get a real sports car or get nothing until you can afford one. There's a difference between a sports car and just a convertible! The Porsche just purrs.................

I love my 2004 Vette and it kicks it!

Vette rules over Boxter.

Madchiyo you are an idiot!

"Get a real sports car or get nothing until you can afford one. There's a difference between a sports car and just a convertible!"
My stock Sky Red Line would take your Boxster from a digg. 0-60 in 5.2 seconds...your Boxster rates at best 5.3 and that's for the Boxster S. Anything else and now you're talking more than 6 seconds.
Sorry, but you paid too much for your mediocre "sports" car.
Oh, and mine is a convertible. :)
