I have always been a fan of Michelle Pfeiffer. I cannot say that it is from her best works, but I loved 'Dangerous Minds' and 'Grease 2.' We also cannot forget her stellar work in 'One Fine Day.' It looks like Hollywood finally realized what an asset they had in Pfeiffer because this week she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her co-stars Paul Rudd and Jeff Bridges were in attendance when she received the honor.
Honestly, I am kind of surprised that it took Pfeiffer this long to get her own star. She has been in the A-list crowd for years and has acted in some classic movies (i.e. 'Scarface' and 'The Fabulous Baker Boys.) I mean if I were Pfeiffer, I would just be insulted that Michael Bolton and Kirstie Alley both were recognized before myself -- but maybe that is just me?

Wait a moment, you're saying - raise money? It actually costs to get a star on the Walk of Fame? Yes it does; let us explain how it works. The Walk of Fame is overseen by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The process is frequently initiated by the performer's management or reps; however, anyone can submit an application to the Chamber nominating a celeb for the honor with the approval of the celeb's representation. Recently, it has become increasingly common for fan groups to sponsor Walk of Fame stars.
During the course of a given year, the Chamber accepts nominations; the selection committee announces their picks in June for the following year's inductees. An average of 20 nominees are selected yearly to receive a star in one of five categories (film, television, recording, stage or radio), from a typical 200 or more applications received. Once the celebrity is selected, payment of $25,000 is required to seal the deal. (Yes, the amount was recently increased by the Chamber). This fee is used by the Chamber to pay for the plaque as well as the cost of the induction ceremony.

It is about time for Michelle. I still think she rocked as Catwoman. If you want to know what it takes to get a star, Bill Geist did an article about it on CBS Sunday Morning news and you can probably find it archived somewhere. Iremember that it costs $25,000, you must be in some aspect of entertainment and you must have made some sort of social contribution, such as fundraising for charity or helping to clean up neighborhoods, etc.

It's true that the actor has to submit his/her work in films to see if he/she can be approved for a star, plus he/she has to PAY for that star! The stars on the Walk Of Fame are really a paid for PR by the star themselves. It's phony baloney, but has become a Hollywood legend and a sign of status in Hollywood to have your star. Many stars REFUSE to pay the money, because they feel their years of talent suffice. I would say Pfeiffer finally decided to anty up the funds. "We're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy". Nope, we're in LA, LA Land.

Would it be a coincidence that she is getting a star just as her new movie is coming out?
Nah, that would be too cynical.

Michelle P , problems, problems, problems .....
It seems it needs to be figured out how to tell a certain lovey they need to wipe and clean better?
They get poo stains on the bath towel daily. their unspeakables always have massive skid marks. Their pants and such smell of poo, and they even regularly smell of poo. Sometimes when they smell, suggestions are that they should take a shower, saying that they smell sweaty or something like that because it's hard to know how to tell them they smell. Comments have been made on the stains on the towels, which are put down to "vigorous wiping" -- but it's obvious to see it as improper washing.
Tiring doing the laundry because of the poo and no one should share towels under any circumstances. Maybe this particular lovey suffers from anal itching, and doesn't seem to realize that it could be because of a dirty bum. We can only hope someday that the truth can be told , and final peace to this poopie situation.

As best I recall, stars are actually, literally paid for by anyone who decides a certain celebrity should have one. Case in point: Ryan Seacrest, of American Idol fame, until just a few years ago had never been heard of. Yet, after gaining fame on "Idol", had a star placed on the Walk of Fame after a mere six months. An unknown to stardom in only six months. Now THAT'S the American dream! I have no doubt there will be nay sayers and those who "know better". To them I say...."Nanny nanny boo boo! I know more than you do!" -Thank You

Stars on the walk are PAID for by supporters. So the "honor" goes to whomever has the deep pocketed interested friends.

Remember these stars dont get a star on the walk of fame they have to buy it. If I remember right I think its like $5,000 they have to shell out for a star. So maybe she thought the time was right and had the 5K to throw this way.
