My wireless phone contract ends in August. That means I get to shop for a new phone ... woohoo! The iPhone is super nice, but I don't think I want to spend more than $500 on a phone. I know, it's more than just a phone, but I already have a video iPod and the only times I've ever used Internet on my phone are to find movie times and phone numbers of local restaurants.I played around with my friend's BlackBerry Pearl and I like that it's sleek and compact. But I'm not sure if I could get used to the double letters on each key pad. I'm accustomed to a full-size key pad, so I've been spoiled. I guess as it gets closer to August, I'll check out cell phones in more detail. In the meantime, I'll do some window shopping and research online.
So help a girl out here, I need some ideas! When June 29 comes around, will you be one of the first people to get the iPhone? What cell phone do you have and how do you like it? Or, what's on your wish list for cell phones? This week's top searched cell phones and smart phones on AOL Search:
1) iPhone
2) BlackBerry
3) Sidekick iD
4) Sidekick 3
5) BlackBerry Pearl
6) BlackBerry Curve
7) Treo
8) Nokia N95
9) Treo 755
10) Samsung BlackJack

BlackBerry Pearl owner since last October, but now wish I could get an iPhone instead. The technology and the deals get better and better as we go along.

I rec'd the Blackberry Pearl for Christmas and as much as I like it for picking up my email on the go, I am going BLIND using it! The keypad is too damn small and the screen is tiny. Time to trade up.

I honestly love the verizon pocket PC, for a young student like myself it helps keep my life organized while staying sleek and cool. It always recieves the "wow's" when you slide out the keyboard.I had gone through a long search for possible phones and, as my final choice, it has never let me down.

The only intelligent idea out of all of these is the one who posted the Helio option. The Ocean is and will be for quite a while the best multi-media (don't call it a phone) device on the market. It also has the best service and plans around. The best deal for your money as well

I have the blackberry pearl and completely love it.
Theblackberrys were intially on the market for business uses and because of this the phone has one of the best speakerphones around. People aren't straining to hear you, nor you them.
The pearl is really blackberry's first attempt at the consumer market. Another great selling point is that if you are looking for phone that plays music (mp3's) and such, this phone works great. I orginally was thinking about going with the blackjack made by another manufacturer or possibly the sliver, but found that you are somewhat limited. Most phones that play mp3 don't allow you to listen to your music through your speaker phone, the blackberry does.
I also use my blackberry pearl to surf the web sometimes like finding out what the weather is going to be like, or its great for getting sports scores. More and more websites are starting to allow formatting for mobile use.
Another cool thing about the blackberry is if you are looking up a place through the internet on your phone, for example, the home depot near you, and you find the one closest to you and their phone number come up on the screen, you can actually move your mouse (roller ball) to select any phone number on any website and you can click it and it will call that phone number for you. I really like that feature. That way I don't have to memorize the phone number quick before I start to dial.
And no, I do not work for a cell phone company or blackberry, I just love my pearl.

Personally I like my phone. The SonyEriccson w300i. Take pictures and video, play 3D games, listen to the radio, and it has a built in walkman. Add to this that it has an expandable memory, as well as internet access(which i hardly ever use) and you can change the face plates rather easily for a fast customization. Who could ask for anything more? Oh yea, you can usually find it for under $100, if not for free.

I like how men are cute little chatterboxes , like they need to spend the majority of their exciting life on the phone . Yer ear gets hot and sticky! What's not to like there , eh ?

You go teaching! And I really want an i phone! I'm a college student and I commute 45 mins to school. If I can check my e-mail and do my Internet research from my car without having to go to a computer lab and wait for a computer, sweet! If I can listen to my music or watch a movie while I wait between classes (since going home isn't an option) without having to carry 10 different devices all the time... That's Awesome. Those of you who just want a phone that calls, that's fine, there are plenty of phones out there for you. But don't begrudge us, who need a little bit more our phone options. And if we feel the freedom of all that stuff in one device is worth $500, that's our business!
